The Tain Hill and Pulpit Rock Walk
Distance: 6 kms
Approximate Time: 150 mins
Description
Tain Hill is a forest walk above the historic town of Tain but, unlike most forest walks it is fairly open and there are good views for much of the walk. You can drive up to the car park and start from there but the walk is described here from the bypass which allows you to reach it by public transport (it also gives you the views from the road up to the car park).
Access Info
The route is described from the foot of Jubilee Drive which is off the Tain bypass (A9). There are signs to the Carnegie Lodge Hotel. To shorten the walk, drive up the road for about a mile to a Forestry Commission car park at the top and start from there.
