Balachladdich is offered for self-catering let on a weekly basis, Saturday to Saturday ( 4 pm on the date of arrival to 10 am on the date of departure), unless otherwise stated, subject to the Hiring Terms and Conditions at the prices stated which do not necessarily imply availability.

We accept payment by cash, sterling travellers cheques, an international money order in Sterling, personal cheque or you can pay by providing us with a Visa or Mastercard number.

Holiday Protection

Holiday Protection Cover is not included in this booking. We recommend that you contact your travel agent or insurance agent to insure against having to cancel your holidays at Balachladdich.

Good Housekeeping

Because this is our Scottish home we ask that you respect it as such and pay a “Good Housekeeping” Deposit prior to the commencement of each holiday. This is returnable to you less the cost of making good any damage or loss to the property or for excessive cleaning found necessary following the period of occupation. The amount of such deposit is ₤250.00 and is payable with the balance of rent.

Paying for your holiday

We have tried to make paying for your holiday as simple as possible. The initial payment is 30% of the total hire charge and may be paid by cheque, cash, sterling travellers cheques, an international money order in Sterling, credit card (Mastercard/Visa). The balance and the good housekeeping deposit is payable no later than six weeks prior to commencement of the holiday. If you are booking within six weeks of the start of your holiday, payment in full is required with your booking form. An Information Sheet, including directions and key instructions, is issued on receipt of the final payment. Hire charges include VAT (sales tax).

Cancellations

Please note that, once a booking has been confirmed, you are liable for the whole cost of the holiday, we will, in any event, endeavour to re-let the property and, if successful, we will make a full refund, less an administration charge of £150 (inclusive of VAT). Accordingly, it is important for you that you let us know of a cancellation as soon as possible by phone, (followed by immediate written confirmation) or in writing by e-mail or fax, so that we can try to re-let your week.

Equipment

Balachladdich is furnished and equipped to cater for eight people and includes pots and pans, crockery, cutlery. The other major items of domestic equipment are listed in the property details. Details are thought to be kept current in our literature and on our website. However if any items are of particular importance, e.g. dishwasher, microwave, video, please check with us beforehand.

The TV channel choice is based on the standard Licence Fee.

Pets

Pets are not allowed.

Smoking

We operate a strict no smoking policy, there must be no smoking inside the property.

Linen

All properties are supplied with pillows, duvets, linen, towels and tea towels.

Cleaning

All properties are cleaned thoroughly between each let. However, as only a limited period of time is available to clean properties, it is a condition of your let that you leave the property and its contents clean and tidy.

Short Breaks

We may on an exceptional basis be able to accept short breaks during off-season and taken at last minute at other times. Please telephone for availability.

Complaints

It is important to us as the property Owners that you enjoy your holiday and every effort has been made to ensure this. However, in the unlikely event of dissatisfaction with the property or any other problem, you must immediately contact us or our caretaker so that the opportunity to rectify the problem is given, don’t wait until after you have left to notify us of the problem.
