The walk to the top of the Beech Wood
Time 1 hour to 1.5 hours
N.B. this walk like all others takes you through a working farm and forestry operation, be careful and look out for tractors and other farm machinery, if there is a gate climb over it or if you open it always make sure you shut it
Walk to the top of the drive.
Turn left and then take the first road to the right and walk all the way to the top, at the “T” junction turn left and walk through the yard of Foulis Mains Farm.
Keep walking up the hill, past the first row of cottages and the second row of cottages.
The road now becomes a rough track and takes you between two fields the views down the Cromarty Firth are really quite spectacular.
If you keep walking up to the fence around the wood you will find a gate that takes you into the Beech Wood. The wood has many woods roads and for the adventurous with a GOOD SENSE OF DIRECTION (the writers emphasis) can provide hours of walking enjoyment.
To return just follow your footsteps.
